Described by Michael’s mom as a crazy sweetie, Ally Carvalho is a lot of things: former domestic worker, housing organizer, curriculum designer, grief group facilitator, Chief of Staff, and aspiring funeral instructor.

Her work lives somewhere between the personal, the political, the mystical, and the comical. Using the written word, found materials, domestic objects, and the kinds of art-making practices you might have learned at the kitchen table, she turns everyday experiences into bigger questions about grief, class, care, memory and pleasure.

Ally is from the great state of Michigan and is proud as hell of her Polish roots. She has a sharp tongue, a loud woo, and too many things in her bag. Her best ideas marinate between sleep and awake.
